Tuhuya Trails
Myself and a ton of other yotatechers ran the Tuhuya trails this saturday. This is the pics and stories thread here are a few to start it off, more will come when they upload
NOTICE THE VW TOREG it was runnin some pretty nasty trails! I was impressed
We had a few interesting stories today:
First Rob develops a rod knock on the way to the trail. We met in spanaway and i couldnt even hear it, by them time we hit purdy it sounded like marbles in the cylinder. So Rob was out for the day.
Then we are playin around in this water hole and Derek floods his crap way bad, he inducted a ton of water but shut it off before he bent rods. So we spent about 45 mins gettin him running again.
Then we get off this tight trail and i'm running super hot so i check stuff out under there and i find the bolt is stripped out that holds the alternator in place which means no belt tension no water pump no fan no alternator power. So we fiddle with that for half an hour and I end up hooking it with a ratchet strap and hooking the fender to get some tension on it to get home.

PM'd you. I don't want to A) thread jack and B) spread my hate and discontent with the company that makes that bumper. There's enough threads about it.

Great turn out and superb weather! ALL the rigs were fantastic and I would wheel with any of these guys again!!!
Great pics!! I still have to get mine uploaded, as well as, my buddy Justin's who was riding shotgun.
No joke, that Toureg was pretty sweet. He was behind me for a while and I was amazed at the suspension system! Did anybody else notice that his window was cracked?

Awesome! Nice pics and it was good to meet all of you
wish I could of spent more time with you guys but I was preoccupied with my motor issues.
My motor wouldnt take me much further than these pics I snapped, by the time I got back to the staging area my motor was toast I had to use the starter motor to get it on Vitas trailer. OH yea and I blew up a stock birf turning around on the trail.
No worries I'll be dropping another motor in this tuesday, and changing out my broken birf for bobbylongs.

haha yeah i passed the toureg on the way out. He did have a cracked window and a bent rocker panel. Otherwise he said a few bumps and scrapes on the bottom they were good, no water inside nothing. And i would love to wheel with any of you's again.. but i'll leave the canopy at home. Too many close calls with trees at angles. NWT!!!!! glad to hear you got home plumbrbob!!! we all worried about you.

Tahuya Run
Here's some of what I got:
It's one thing to see Al does this on video, it's another to see it in person!!! Nicely done Al or should I say USS Granger!!!
The Toureg
He smacked into that stump that's just to the right
The rock hill
The hill climb
Those holes were SICK!!! I'm talking like 6 feet or deeper!

Devoloped a rod knock on the way up to the trails, pretty sure I spun a bearing. After I decided to fix it with a swap out and found a ride home for my rig. I took it out on the trail and finished it off and my buddy Vitas towed me back home on his sweet truck and trailer setup. THANKS DUDE!
I already found a 22r long block a few miles from my house for 200 from a guy I know.
I dont care to put alot of time or money in motors anymore since I keep getting it sideways, hurting it with high rev red line RPM, and long term high revs from climbing and decending that sky rocket the temp and I have been doing alot of that lately.
I think the real breakage story is was how easily I broke the stock birfeild I shattered it like butter! then again I did see if a full steer lock and little skinny petal would hurt it, and it snapped first try!
