Trinity Lake

I recently went up to Trinity Lake to stay in my Brother-in laws cabin. Needless to say I took the 4runner and did some wheelin. Sorry for the some of the phone quality pics; none of my pictures came out for some reason in my other camera. Unfortunately I don't have to many action shots, so poser I will be

We thought we would get up early and get some wheeling in, the first thing we saw was a stream, no biggie right? just a little stream. So we hit it head on and got stuck.... damn! I left the recovery gear back at the cabin since we didn't think we would do anything "stuck worthy". Lesson learned.

While my brother-in law hiked back to the cabin I thought I would try various techniques to get myself out, I tried pushing....

I tried posing...

None of those techniques worked so we used his truck, a 8,500 lbs dodge dually with a turbo diesel. Excellent!

Once I was unstuck I went to find some more cool places, this being one of them.

As we were looking around I heard the sound of his truck coming closer but then we just heard the rpm's keep going up and down... the un-disputable sound of being stuck. DAMN! My sister wanted to come over and meet us but got a little to close to the water. This is bad since my truck weights half what his does, we have minimal recovery gear and we are on a semi dried lake bed, so his truck was constantly sinking.

Woohoo so the little 4Runner nearly made a recovery on a full-size american truck. Unfortunately an hour of digging and the little 4runner were not enough so we had to go and grab his Jeep.

Now I know how much the environmentalists hate the dust we kick up so I thought I would stop in one of the stream crossings to wash the dust off my tires. Worked quite nicely.

I definitely need a snorkel if I am going to cross streams like this

We had alot of fun on the trip, I am now in the market for some good recovery equipment. I had some cool shots from when we when into some really tight woods, but none of the pics came out oh well I hope you like the pics.

Great pictures!!!
the lake looks pretty low.
I live over the hill in Humboldt and head up that way quite a bit. The Coffee Creek area to the north is really good for wheeling if you head back up there.
BTW nice runner!

Thanks man! The lake is super low, it's funny since last year I was rowing a kayak over where I was off-roading. Coffee Creek is sweet, I couldn't make it over there this time, but next time hopefully.
