LOL!

I can't believe how empty that lake is and I hear they may not fill it this year.

lol, okay heres the details. My brother drove into the muddy part of the lake bed in two wheel drive and got stuck a little. So then he stuck it in 4 and tried to get out but couldn't and just dug himself in a little deeper(most likely due to the bald front tires...). So then i tried pulling him out with my Mazda and that didn't work, so we hooked up the big ford F250 and tried pulling from the front, didn't work. So we tried from the back and thats when things really got bad and it sank to the frame. And by now the F250 was sinking. The ground in this part of the lake was like a water bed... So then this jeeper shows up... and i walk over and ask if he will gives us a winch. And the first thing he says is "how much money you got?" and im like great... in the mean time my brother is highlifting away on the yota and had the axles outta the mud. Then finally the guy with the jeep says "okay, the first ones free" and he tied up to one of the stumps and extended his winch cable all the way out it still wouldn't reach, so we hooked a chain onto it and he winched away. And the yota slowly but surely was freed from the mud. Its a really fun place to mess around in, but there are a lot of dirtbikes there on weekends. Most of the lake is hard compact clay. Thanks for all the replies.

Some of the locals said that the cops will write you a ticket but if you take it to court Puget power wont show up. I have yet to get a ticket so i think its alright.

I'm not a tree hugger in any way, but this is one of the reasons that 4wheeling is becoming a target for nature activists. If you are not supposed to be there, then it's probably the best that you don't go there. There are designated areas for this. I'm not trying to rip on you or anything like that, I'm just saying to keep this in mind.

I agree with Oly. As much fun as it looks like, it's not legal and it does look bad on all of us.
Now if you wanna go have some fun AND be a good think, talk to the people in Bonney Lake and Sumner about doing a trash cleanup on the lake. Take your rigs out and load up the old tires and crap that people have tossed in the lake. Combine your fun with a good public image (not to mention a good public service) and we all come out ahead.

I'm stealing this thread for a single post.
You should ONLY be wheeling on private property with the owner's permission, ORV parks or public land and you MUST stay on the trails. Driving through pastures, making mud holes off the trail, even driving in the ditches on the side of the road is 90% of the reason for trail closures and road closures. It gives the greenies ammunition against us. Driving on the lake bad without permission, and especially if you get stuck an create a scene, looks bad. I'm glad you had fun, noone got hurt and no real harm done. Please keep this in mind when you want to go wheeling again.
There are LOTS of 4wd clubs with runs all over the place every weekend. Get in touch with them and see if you can tag along. You'll learn a LOT about wheeling etiquette, techniques, safety and SKILLs. You know the basics like don't go wheeling along and carry proper extraction equipment

Driving in the lake is not your backyard, even if you own waterfront - nice try though

Are you familiar with the Shore Patrol. It's an annual beach cleanup with the state and the wheelers get together for a large beach cleanup along the ocean. They get TONS of trash cleaned up. I've done a couple similar events in the past and they're not only successfuly but put our cause in good standing with community.

BTW, what's the skinny on putting water back in the lake this summer??
