Snow stuck, dang it.

Snow stuck, dang it.
Went out to the mountains yesterday with a lady friend that flew in from Texas for the weekend. We had about 10" of snow in the hills and I thought "hell it's only 10", we should hit the trails". So we made the run to the trail head and I was sliding all over the place in 2wd (stupid tires), stopped at the trail head and got stuck going in with 4low. I backed up, put it in 4hi and leaped the rocks to get into the trail.
Everything was going great until I hit an off camber spot..... yup the rig shifted sideways across two ruts and stalled. I had a tree in front and a rock behind and I'm sitting blocking the road. My lady was laughing and having a great time (she's never been wheeling and didn't realize I didn't intend to get stuck). So after 15 minutes of "got forward and hit the tree... reverse, cut the wheels and hit the rock" we got out and had to back down the trail to get back out.
The best part was that she had a blast. The worst parts were that I didn't have a camera and right after we got out a line of Jeeps came down behind us. One guy mentioned that they watched me get crossed up but couldn't get to me before I got out. On another note when I dropped out of the trail covered in mud and snow there was an FJ sitting at the trail head with the driver staring up at the entrance. He just shook his head and drove off, hell he would have done better than I did and I thought about asking him if he'd like me to follow him in.... next time.
