Sucks Reire is like that but the picture of you almost in the woodline is the reason that trails are getting closed. We as wheelers are not practicing good stewardship of the trails and are losing them.

Some more example of reasons are:
illegal by-passes
trash
winching without a tree strap
driving in ditches
even poser shots on tree stumps

NW wheeler frequently has post about the topic and has individuals and groups trying to stop further loses.

Man, index/wall has been closed for a WHILE now. Next time a good rain goes thru there, you'll have all the mud you'd want...let me know 'cause I'll go!!!!!!!! Oh, let vital know too I don't even remember the last time he hit the dirt trails!!! LOL!!!!!

Yup reiters been closing trail after trail for a few years. Thanks greenies.. go hug a tree and stay off the roads and run around naked in the forest cause thats the only way you can live green, given that your house was made of trees, roads paved and the oil you burn in your car.

Just saw on NW that theres some closures a Tahuya, too. Was confused if it was just some campground or some trails.

Well if you guy aren't busy this weekend there will be a group up at Elbe doing some clean up. It would be a good time to help clean up around there and clear some trails. You don't have to own a Yota to show so let you buddies know

this is kinda random but thought id share it in this thread, today on the radio some hippie was talking about how people are trashing reitar and its not as appealing for hikers and bikers. wth? then he says that people are driving on trees and ruining the bark...

maybe he meant stumps? its so annoying how they are ruining a perfectly good place. and noone wants to drive hours and hours to go wheel so might as well keep this one good. (sorry for rant but im just adding to what you were saying drysuperfly)

I'm not sure why hikers and bikers would want to hang out at an OHV park...

Unfortunately, I'm sure there's more to that story. Every-time I go to Reiter, I have yet to see anybody being yahoo's or driving where they shouldn't or up trees for that matter. It only takes one to be seen though...

I"ve been going to reiter for years and have picked up more trash and shotgun shells then i can even begin to remember. With that my friends have named me the "TreeHugger".

I tear up the dirt and rub the trees just like everyone else, so im not tryin to be all high an mighty but........ if all we do is bitch about trails being closed on the forum - nothing is going to happen. Join one of the few "save reiter" type groups (C.O.R.E. offroad club can help), actually send E-mails to your gov't reps, Participate in clean-ups, blah blah blah.

For OUR sake let someone know when they're being a dumba$$ on the trail.

On another note:
I think we should all start posting when we're going wheelin. it's more fun with friends!

P.S. I suck at the computer so i can't get LINKS for ya, sorry
