You should be ok, take it easy and don't be afraid to ask for a spotter. Lotta rocks that will ding ya up. Get some shackles and a recovery strap (not a tow strap) and take a spare. I was going to take my 92 stock on 33's open diff's (4.10's) but it didn't wanna go...

Hahah that's funny I rememeber making the comment when we got there and saw Yotaluver's rig, "at least I am not the only corny guy to have dual antennas on his truck" If I rememebr right though, Yotaluver's 2nd antenna is hooked up to either his fire scanner or VHF radio for his fire dept. I am sure he can confirm that.

As for my 2nd antenna, it will be hooked up very soon to my AM/FM/CD stereo.

Close Mine are the 48" Wilson Flex antennas.

Mine was stock on 31's. I did ok.

I can't agree more, make use of spotters when you feel you might be a little uncomfortable with the terrain. Even if you are, it's always good to use them anyway, because it's real hard to see around the front end. Also pic your lines at least 20-30 feet ahead of you.

Lumpy did a great job in his spotting duties for the day. But if you get an inexperianced guy to do your spotting and you don't feel comfortable with the way he's communicating with you either tell him how you want it explained or get another spotter.

Also only use the skinny pedel if you really really have to. If your driving a manual trans truck, don't be afraid to stall (ALOT). I'd rather stall the engine than mash the gas and either break a CV or run into something.

One thing I would absolutely make sure is up to par is your brakes. I am 100% glad I redid all 4 corners on mine prior to the trip. The drop in to the firepit would have been a heck of a lot more scary than it already was with sub-par brakes.

Funny you mention antennas, my 4Runner has none lol. My CB has no antenna and my new replacement fender didnt have a hole in it for the radio antenna...

I dont mind little dinks from the rocks, but i cant afford a roll over or a dent that the door wouldnt open. But im sure thats understandable. What size shackles? Wheres the best place to buy a recovery strap? I'm running 4.10 gearing as well so the highway speed isnt the fastest. I will post a picture later of my truck for reference.

recovery straps you should be able to get at an autoparts store. A 2.5"-3" strap should be fine. If you don't know the difference between recovery and tow straps, the recovery strap (also called a snatch strap) is made to "stretch" a little allowing for yank style pulling, where the tow strap is not designed to stretch and is meant to let out the slack before pulling.

Stock you should do fine on greens. As for quick mods, you could take the sway bar off, any lift you can get would help, make sure you have a tow point front AND rear, skid plates, CB would be good... the list goes on.

Thanks. That sounds like a good deal. Got mine a year ago with 145,000mi for $5,500 and I think that was an amazing deal. I love it. Look for one with the rear locker, it's great!

seriously (and i did not stay past the 4 hour mark on the trail), there was no risk of rollover on the trails i was on.

as a spotter, LUMPY was the absolute best.

the only one i was concerned personally was the small hill that i'm in the video...my "boat anchor" of a tow hitch banged hard on the other side....s i might add that in regards to my hard bumper hit and XXXTREME's bumper "removal"......might be smart to do what you can in that department as far as having a bumper but having it high.

i as on 31's, stock everything....didn't care much for the hard underside hitsof which there were a zillion....but other than that, it's all good

I am still surprised that I didn't bash up that skid plate of mine. Last time I went I didn't have it on. this time I did, but Lumpy kept me above most of the stuff that woulda taken it out.
