John Bull Snow Run 11-06-11

Went out with a few close friends and ran John Bull. Was the first snowfall of the season up in Big Bear. There was probably about 4-6 inches at best. Maybe 7-8 inches in some spots. It was just enough snow on the rocks to make the trail slippery and a lot of fun.
We had to pass the same group twice. Once because they knew they would hold us up, then one in our group broke, then we caught up to them again as they were held up at an obstacle that our group could walk up without issue.
It was a good day with some good friends and I can't wait to get up to JB when there is more snow.

The gatekeeper with a near stock Jeep:

His CV:

The group in front of us. This guy had a 1st gen 4Runner with some weird body work. Deleted front corner markers, old bronco style tail lights and a shaved tailgate. Nice truck, but without lockers you ain't making John Bull without a struggle. And yea, they pulled him backwards from the leaf spring mount.

Great pics.

Lots of conifers. I'd love to visit out that far west sometime.
