I need Sedona, AZ info...
On my honeymoon(9 years a ago) my wife and I staye in Sedona and did the tourist thing. One of the tours we took was with Pink Jeep Tours. Does anyone know the name or number of the dirt road into the backcountry that Pink Jeep uses. I'm planning our 10th anniversary and want to go back...just not pay the $60 bucks to go someplace i can get to in my 4Runner.

There bought a book called "Guide to Arizona Backroads and 4-wheel Drive Trails". The other says the most beautiful drive is Schnebly Hill Road. Another one the other mentioned that is beautiful is Oak Creek Homestead. Schnebly Hill Road is rated "Easy" and Oak Creek is rated "Moderate". Its a good book to get with very detailed directions. If you want them I can write them up for you tomarrow when I get home from school. If you want to stop you will have to get a Red Rocks Pass...I believe it is like $5. I have never driven them since I don't have a truck yet.

Broken Arrow is fun I also took a Pink Jeep tour way back when. A few years later I followed them around in my old Pathfinder.
I remember smaking my trailer hitch on every step on the part the jeeps easily slide down.

Yep it's Broken Arrow, drive north on 89A and watch for the small wooden sign with blue letters that says: "Broken Arrow" it will be a right turn if you are heading north. The trail is one way, follow the signs and you'll be fine. It's an easy trail.

There are dozens of opportunities for wheelin' and site seeing in the Sedona area. I'd recommend getting a Coconino National Forest and a Prescott Nat. Forest map. Also a Sedona Red Rock pass is required for users in the area. The passes can be purchased locally at major grocery stores or online along with the FS maps.

If your bringing your own rig, don't limit yourself to the Sedona area. The Mogollon Rim above Sedona streches for almost 150 miles from the northwest near Williams thru central Arizona to southeast near Pine Top/Lakeside and the White Mountains. One of my favorite scenic drives is off old Rt. 66 in Flagstaff. Take Woody Mountain road south from Flagstaff. It winds it's way almost 40 miles south to the rim overlooking the red rock country above Sedona. The veiws are incredable. Check out a few pic's from Nobody's visit a couple years back. The last few shopts are from the overlook...

Take the time to see Jerome and the Mining Museum if your interested in local history. Both Tuzigoot and Montezuma's Castle Nat. Monuments are worth seeing as are the ruins west of Sedona.
Take care and enjoy your trip!

I was in Sedona this past November, and drove by the Pink Jeep Plaza -
....and I saw several Pink Jeeps while I was taking pictures on Schnelby Hill Rd at sunset. This drive would be a nice place to take the wife -

anybody else go on the Pink Jeep tours recently, and wind up with some crazy guide, I think his name was Bruce, and I remember him talking about the Broken Arrow trails, and how it is government slang for a lost nuke or something, and how, theyre might be one there. His whole government conspiracy shindig wasnt part of the tour, he was just flat out crazy. Was out there maybe 3 years back.
