Deep & Heart Lake - Glenwood Springs, CO

Just thought I'd share a picture from my camping trip last month:
http://www.haveblueonline.com/misc/D...art%20Lake.jpg

The mountain in the middle of the frame is Maroon Bells. Off to the right is Mt. Sopris.
On the day we were driving to the lakes, we stopped and watch a herd of elk down in the meadow in the lower portion of the frame.

Enjoy!

"Sopris" looks an awful lot like Capitol in your picture, though. If you zoomed in a bit closer for further inspection, I suspect it would look a lot like this. I think Sopris must be still further to the right a bit off the screen. Did you take any other snaps here of the distant peaks? Definitely a cool vantage point. I haven't been there yet, myself.

My first camping trip with my Runner was up near Aspen last fall and we hiked to the lake just under the Maroon Bells;great scenery up there.

i lived in the area for a long time - if you want good scenery, head up to Ashcroft, or some of the areas up along Independence Pass.

Sure enough! How did I get turned around?
I have a panorama of the area. I don't know how I missed that :pat:

Thanks, Darren!
