Baja east coast

WOW!! I love that area, and Bay of LA is so cool! I spent a week there a long time ago for a college marine bio class. Did you guys go out on the sand spit? Is the lighthouse still there? Was it freezing, 'cause it was butt-cold when I went, and I'm usually used to cold water from surfing in So Cal. Do you guys do this kind of trip often? Did many in your group hablan Español?

Isn't San Felipe awesome? I love that place. The shrimp rocks!
I remember once when I was down there for the Baja 250, some guy with a Jeep got drunk and drove out on the beach when the tide was out, he and his buddies couldn't get him unstuck and eventually all you could see above the water were the KC's on the top of his roll bar... :pat: It was fairly amusing...
Oh yeah - Pete's Camp rules!
Anyway, great trip report, bro, as always....

Thanks everyone
Dealmaker, on this trip we stayed south of town, so didn't head over that way. We don't live close enough to go on a regular basis, but I try to get down there whenever we can. Yes, a few of us sabe Español, pero mi español es muy malo... LOL
Climber, yea, I enjoy San Felipe too. It's kind of a bummer that the last of the free beach camping seems to be gone along the cliffs north of town now. There are lots of newer developments that are going in, so it's off limits. We rarely ever stay in a paid camp when in Baja, so I don't know too many of them. I do know Pete's camp, but have never stayed there.

Thanks guys
I myself wouldn't post an open invite for a trip, as I usually either travel solo or with only a few other people (unless I am tagging along on someone else's trip). In this case, we were solo (my wife and I) and we just met up with some friends who were down there at the same time doing their own trips.
But that's not to say that someone else shouldn't organize a trip. Go for it! "Yotatech Baja Expedition" sounds kind of cool
For anyone who wants to do a trip to get oriented with Baja but doesn't want to go at it alone, I would recommend getting in touch with Nathan at http://www.pangaea-expeditions.com/ . They are doing a new trip down there this year.
