Another cleghorn run!! pics!!

ok well we went on another cleghorn run but only this time my pasenger rear tire blew. and it didnt just blow tha sidewall blew the **** up lol. i was pissed at myself and i was trying to figure out how i could pay for a new one but i was kinda in a tight spot to try to change a tire. thankfully jason ym new found friend was there with me on this run and happened to have a floor jack. he was prepared and i wasnt. anyways the mud was so thick that when we jacked up the truck it would want to slide off the jack plate. so after a long thought process we decided to hook up the truck by tow strap to keep it from slipping and we threw to blown tire under the front. anyway 1-2 hours later we got the tire on and after 15-20 minutes of carful manuevering we were able to get my truck out of this rediculous situation. heres a pick of us riggin up the strap.

the trail was muddy in spot with some water pools but all in all the trail was easy. just i didnt stay in the easy area. anyways enjoy my pics.

jason get ur pics up as soon as u can i cant wait to see them. u guys have alot more than i do so post away thanks.

Sure doesn't look like the "road" or trail where you got the flat. Trails get closed because of jackass's that can't stay on the ESTABLISHED trails. You could have easily driven your truck back onto the trail and changed it there.

You know what get's me is your rant about picking up 5 bags of trash or whatever and here you are clear as day in this picture off trail screwing it up for the rest of us offroaders. Pictures like this are the fuel that the enviros love!

I cant tell you how impressed i was with my 4x4. remember that first obstical that we went up, where you couldnt make the one line, but finally went to the left (my third picture). as soon as i went through that, i had 100% confidence in my truck. i swear that thing was unstoppable. i had a great time kyle, thanks again for showin trisha and me around, and thanks for lunch

Where exactly do you mean by, "i didnt stay in the easy area"? I've ridden Cleghorn a bunch of times (we used Cleghorn as a more riding less driving access point to single track in Arrowhead) and I don't remember the spot in the pictures showing the tow strap project.

What he probably meant was he stayed on the fireroad. All the pictures are taken from the fireroad and southwest of the staging area. The harder "spots" are nothing more then a secondary road that criss-crosses the main fire road.

About 3 months ago I started looking for a trail to adopt for the club I belong to. Cleghorn was one of the roads we had considered. We've ended up co- adopting the Holcomb Creek trail(3N93).

hey compass i apreciate ur input on the designated road thing. i admit i made a mistake by getting off the main road, but igot what i deserved. it will never happen again but not just because of the flat just because im looking back now and im realizing what a stupid mistake it was. sometimes when i have that much fun wheeling the good ole' adrenaline kicks in and sometimes i begin to think these trucks are literally unstopable. so i just do stupid things. this i learned from and it will never happen again i kinda needed this slap in the face "sort of speak". anyways i do good as well. the previous time i was out there i stopped at all the pull off areas and picked up random trash from the locals parties. mostly beer cans and bottles. this last time i actually didnt see alot of stuff so i guess the rains kept the partiers away. hopefully that helps change ur opinion about me. anyways thanks for all the posts guys

jason ill call usometime tommorow when ur not busy to see if we can start planning another trip. i just gotta get me a new tire. adios

oh and compass there are more difficult roads than just the ones crisscrossing the main road. u could take other routes that lead u to more difficult areas.

and snorkeldepth, to get to where we are in that picture u would have to climb the big hill on the right about 9-10 miles into the trail. it is still a designated route but it obviously more difficult when u see it. im sure u have seen it as uve driven through before but u may not have climbed it. once u get to the top u can go straight or make a u-turn and go back down to the main road as we decided to do. the tow strap thing took place after the tire was fixed and i just took a difficult line and got caught up in this rut as u saw in the pictures. next time we post a trail report i will add subline noting what is exactly goin on in each picture so there is no more cofusion and false accusations.

Thanks Hytek. I know that I look at terrain a whole lot different when I'm on the bike versus driving my truck. I was trying to figure out where you were and I just couldn't picture it. I even did a virtual ride on Google Earth to refresh my memory. I guess I better get back out there soon!

yah i know jason. this last trip taught me alot. i need alot of stuff, but i need a new tire first. i need a cb, antenna for cb, tow strap "good one", compressor, a "hyjack!!!!!" and i want a roof rack but that a future add-on. anything else i need??

snorkeldepth, sorry about the "u" thing too much texting replies to the gf developed a habbit i guess. i will work on it. anyways snorkel try to make it out with us next time it would be cool to meet "you" and all these other people in person.

oh and jason do u have any pictures of the actual infamous tire change?? because i think looking back on it now it may be kinda funny to see. the truck sliding off the jack and all. anyways talk to you later adios

Sorry I forgot to put my input on the trip....Kyle I had a great time and thank you for lunch. The view was very pretty from the trail and I got some great pictures. But next time Jason and I are going to have to bring my 4Runner because I missed out on all the fun since he wouldn't let me drive...err. Love ya sweetie! Anywho. Thanks again and I hope we plan a trip again real soon.

definatly another trip to come. i will be back out on the trails just as soon as i can afford a new tire lol. next time we'll do burgers and we wont have have to dig me out of a rediculous situation. (knock on wood) anywaysit would be awesome to see both you guys have your trucks out there. it is really alot more fun driving then riding shotgun. i will pay for lunch again i still owe you 2 for the help! ill give jason a call soon so we can plan something i have 2 bills to pay and ill be ready to buy that tire. how did your truck clean up jason? that mud was like cement on my truck. i used my gas powered pressure washer to blast that crap off. talk to you guys soon.
