Here is a pic on the sheet metal. I notched out the right side for the power wire and coax to come out. The cuts are could be better but I did them too small the first time so thats take two. Plus when it was put together nobody knew but me.... Doh! not anymore...

nice setup i was thinking about mounting mine up there but i didnt want to drill into the roof. and i thought it would attract some shady people. i dont wanna come out to my truck and fide the window busted and just wires hanging there. so i am almost finished makeing a mount for under the radio in the second slot. then i just gotta figure out how to run the wire for the antenna because i want it on the roll bar. but i dont know exactly how long the coaxil is.

BTW the ham radio was from a construction company but not hooked up to a truck. the CB is outa my friends basement and probably came off his old boat.

You can't see up there. If the mike cord was hanging down it would be a bit different. I had a friend that wanted to see it. Sat down in the passenger seat and asked "where is your radio?" I pointed up and it suprised him.

Of course if someone needed a clue about a radio in the runner, all they have to do is look at the antenna behind it...

Coax usually runs about 18' long.

well my coaxil is attached to the base of the antenna. its a cheapo magnetic mount one from radio shack. i dont expect it to perform great but i just need to ba ble to talk within 5miles just so during wheeling i can keep in tuch with others. and if i wanna mess with the truckers lol.

ok update i just got a new CB after installing the other on into the truck. i foud a nice cobra 25 WX NW ST( http://www.cobra.com/index.php?page=...duct_id=1&id=1 ) radio and i got 2 4' fiberglass whips. hopefuly tomarow i can hook the stuff up. it kinda sucks doing all that work to put the radio in only to rip it out and do it again.
