you have to have a converter that converts AC electrical current to DC current and hook the radio up as you would to a battery in a car.
Or either you could put a spare car battery and battery charger in the bottom of the tool box haha.

how many amps do you guys think would be sufficient??
the stereo has a 10amp fuse in the back of it.. so i am assuming no more than 10..
would @.09 be enough??
how many amps do the stereos see while they are in vehicles???

But that's the MAX... It's just a little draw, as long as you're keeping it sane, and not putting an amp in there, or something.

It all depends on the radio and how much power it puts out and how much amperage it pulls.
The large toolboxes with radios and fridges are pretty cool but whats wrong with going to a yardsale and buying a boombox for 10 bucks? It will save you money plus you will have an extra radio to sell or put in your truck if the one in it craps out!

IF the one craps out in my truck now, i will send it in for repair (its a month old). and i will just take it out of the tool box in the mean time..

I see... If I already had all the materials to do it I wouldnt think twice! I actually had a car radio hooked up in my room for a while just for kicks.
Don't forget to get a antenna or you will only be able to play cds. The ones that plug in and are just a little wire work well and you wont have to have an external antenna on the tool box.

yea. i was going to go to frys electronics and buy the adapter to go from cb antenna to radio antenna and mount it on the tool box..
or i might just plug my ipod into and not worry about an antenna,, or those damn pesky commercials.
