Stereo help
Hey guys. I am new to this forum and I just bought an '06 4Runner xsr. I am looking to add a better sound system and need some suggestions/questions answered. I am planing on going with all JL Audio and I am keeping the stock head unit. (I am trying to keep the cost down and I want to keep the use of the steering wheel cotrols and the Ipod hookup in the center console) I am thinking of going with the JL Audio Stealthbox for the sub which helps with keeping everything looking stock. I want to keep the inside looking as stock as possible. That is another reason I want to keep the stock head unit. I need some suggestions on to where to put the amps. I have been told that the only place to put them is tp mount them behind the back seat. I would rather not do that if there is another place to put them. I was wondering if I could put them undr the front seats? The seats are not electric.

In the past 2 years of doing car audio professionally I have NEVER seen a stock deck with RCA jacks for outputs. It would be a nice change, but I seriously doubt any OEM manufacturer will ever do that as it would raise costs. Amps can be under either of the front seats, mounted to the back seats or to the box itself.

I would love to put the amps under the front seats, but there are air ducts under the seats for the ac/heat. There is an adapter you can hook up to the stock stereo to plug in the rca cables.
