Yeah...I've always heard great things about Pioneer...I am coming from the world of Alpine and Infinity. I will probably be sticking with Infinity but Pioneer is looking more and more interesting to me so I am gonna try something a little different.

After some surfing I found a site that was full of reviews for it and everybody said it was awesome, they said it took some reading of the manual to figure out all the controls but after that they said it was awesome!
This is the first step in getting my system setup, I'm pumped!
Thanks for the help dwh!

However I dont believe either has time correction like my alpine cda-9835. Of course a 600 dollar deck better have EVERYTHING! LOL
But the 80 is definately a good deck, you will like it!

I got it and I love it! Looks great, controls are great, and it makes my factory setup sound aftermarket...enough so that I am going to wait on the amp and components for a few more weeks as I've got a couple jobs coming up that will make my emotional breakdown after typing my credit card number a little easier on me.
Thanks for the help Bumpin', I was gonna go with an Alpine, but this one was on sale and the only one that I would have gotten would have been the 9835 or the 9855 and that just made me kringe (cringe?) when I saw the price tag and with shipping and all of that.
Anyway, I think I made a good decision!

Agreed, 600 msrp is insane on a deck, but thats what they come in at. Thank God for my accomidation at CC...LOL (mom used it to beat down Sound Abuse a half mile up the road)

my friend has one. its a really REALLY nice looking headunit. very easy to use, considering the one rotary knob. very nice imaging (on the screen) and very nice sound quality. the specs say 27 rms i think, but it pushes more than that. the volume control goes up to 60 which is also the max output, and its still clear up to about 30 or so.... overall i really like it. i too own a pioneer headunit, and it works wonderful. i am definitely a pioneer supporter!

Bumpin, you work at Circuit City? It's a good place to work, I worked there for four years and I'm getting ready to go back after they review my application...should be going in as Roadshop manager.
I'm pumped!
I'm gonna feel like an idiot if CC actually stands for something else...but anyway!

Yeah, the whole CA awards system is kind of screwed up...I would guess they're going to change it seeing as how a lot of product specialists are having the same complaint.
I'm not really sure about the salary yet, I'm talking to the Store Director tomorrow about it and we'll see what happens.
I used to get a whole crap load of cheese on orders but some people are just set on spending extra money for the coverage and on speakers...you cant beat it! If you blow em we replace em I just dont get it man!
Good luck bein an installer!

I actually almost bought one of these two days ago. But the store didn't have the mounting kit that puts a pocket where my cassette player is now, so i didn't. I just bought a blaupunkt bremen mp74 instead. A better choice I think.

I just installed mine today, and I'm loving it. Bought my 4Runner used and it had a JVC in it and who ever instaled it cut the factry harnes, but no biggie. I'll post a pic later. Right now it is set for 40w but I wil prob switch it to 60w. As far as I know I still have the factory speakers? I need to see what's behind my door panels I guess.
