new recevier installation 1990 camry
So I bought a new revicer hd radio cd mp3 usb receiver I got it all hooked up and it was working perfect for about an hour while i nstalled the new speakers. then it just quit there is a fuse next to where the harness hooks in I looked at that and its fine all the fuses are fine every thing seems good but I am not getting any power from the switch power wire the one i think that controls power while the car is parked in accsesory mode. I mean I have pulled the face plat off the reciver and there is a red light flashing so i know there is power. i kinda want to run new power wire from the battery to the reciver but I dont know what I am looking for from the fuse box to the reciever. does anyone here know what i need to be looking for. thanks

so do you have power when the ignition is on but not in accessory mode?
There are 2 power wires likely for your new head unit. Give us some more detail like name the receiver/head unit. A JVC for example has a power lead for each mode. One for ignition and one for accessory. You should have gotten the factory specific harness to tie into your head unit harness and if not then you missed a wire along the way, and made it difficult.
No need to run a new power wire all the way from the battery unless you want the radio to work with no key whatsoever-I don't recommend that as it will drain your battery when left on accidently.
