Swapping 1.8L diesel into 4x4 Pickup
I recently swapped a 1.8L isuzu diesel into a 1991 4x4 pickup. It took 2 years and lots of time, but I think it is a really cool conversion. I plan to run it on biodiesel (which I have been making and running in my other vehicles) which is the primary reason for the conversion. Just thought I would post it up. I added a turbo/intercooler setup, aluminum radiator, 3 inch diameter stainless steel stacks and built custom aluminum bumpers. I also replated the frame on 3 sides because it was rusted in two (like almost every Yota in the North). Lots of other modifications were made. If you have any questions just ask.

Yeah I was gonna put a 4BT in but there were 2 major issues:
1) They are pretty expensive
2) They are really heavy (about 700 lbs)
So I decided to go with this one. Plus I got this engine free and am in the process of building it up. After it should have about 110-150 hp and lots of torque. Plus it will be light weight and fuel efficient as well. I am hoping to get about 40 mpg with it. But we will see. It got 50-60 mpg in a chevette so I think 35-40 is a reasonable figure.
