So I have been thinking....EXO
I am getting my sliders welded back on next month, and want to do something to get some rollover protection. I dont want to go with an incab cage kit since I am 6'4'' and fill the cab without any extra stuff..thus exo.
So I am thinking of just starting with this idea... Have a hoop welded to the sliders that goes at the back of the cab, then to add support run two bars from the top of the hoop to the bed. I would run them just above the tool box lit radius, and down the front (back??) of the toolbox to the frame rails..
What do you think of this idea. Aside from losing the abilty to slide large wide things unde the tool box, I have air tanks there so no that big of a deal, I think it would provide some decent protection in the event I jeep it... It would also provide a good place to add a spare tire mount, finding room for a 35 is hard, and a place to add some rear and side facing lights...
Please, any and all opinions..
oh yeah, sorry my artisitc ability is better than my spelling ability, but that doesnt say much..

The same thing had crossed my mind also (but run the diagnol the other way for vis sake), I want to also run a bar between the back supports (to put a spare tire mount on), so that will help too..

Have you considered making the exo frame the whole cab...I am not at my comp right now but when I get there tomorrow I will post a pic of what I am talking about. That way in a rollover you are completely protected

YEP, right now the 60" bar is mounted to the front (cab side) of the tool box, will have to move for a horiz support, so I will mount it to the cage.... I really hope a simple bar like this isnt $$$$$$$$$

I wheeled our Tacoma with a simple bedcage for a while and thought I'd mention that if ou jump it or get really crossed-up on trails, the frame would actually flex enough to let the main hoop hit the back of the cab. I solved that problem by finishing the rollcage.
