Hello guys, new pics of the first finished test bumper.

We're improving a few things and will fab the brackets of one piece instead of welded ones in the next bumpers:

Hello!

Finished the first attempt

It doesn't have shackle hangers because if it has it's difficult to legalize it here... Pedestrian protection they say... Don't know who they want to protect, hope to never hit anybody...

Hope you like it

You really need at least one point to hang a shackle on the front for when you need the extra pull power using a snatch block. Could you put shackle hangers on top or underneath of the bumper where they wouldn't be exposed to pedestrians? Maybe like your tow hook, but on the other side?

looks great, what about the horizontal vents up front? would it be better to make those vertical so they dont snag on rocks and such? I dont know either way, just curious. You guys will def find a corner of the market to sell those in, keep up the good work.

Hey techs

First time posting on this site but I've gotten a lot mechanical help here during past projects and wanted to give something back. When I set out to make a winch bumper for my 88 4runner I couldn't find much detailed fab info/pics for ideas, so here's a contribution to that area. I'll try to attach one pic of the finished bumper... I have step by step pics with explanations up on http://www.myspace.com/jbtvt ,click on pics. I'm not going to repost everything here, plus I want to share with toyotanation which has also been helpful. But if you'd like any ideas for a custom bumper click the link.
I maxed this winch out hard and everything held, winching the bottom out from under a 60ft poplar which wedged into the ground and hung up on a tree after I cut it, and multiple self-recoveries have been a cinch. Originally worried about mounting to the crossmember I used as it looked weakish but now I can vouch that this system will take whatever you throw at it. Steel is 1/4" 2x4and 2x2, 5/16" 4x4, and 1/8" 1x1
