Bud Built IFS Skid install question

I'm looking at Bud Builts IFS skid to mount on my rig (92 pickup) but since I've already gone ahead and welded in a tube bumper I'm not sure if I can mount it the way they have described on their website. I emailed bud built pertaining to this question but have yet to hear back from them.

Does the very front of the skid have more options to mount besides the 2 holes on the front of the lower core support? I have a scab plate that was welded over those holes and I can not utilize them anymore. Can it mount underneath the lower core support instead of the front where the scab plate is?

I would end up mounting it where the holes were for the stock skid plate. (or in this case where my fog lights are in the second picture).

Picture of how they have their skid mounted

i have one myself, It mounts to the two front bolts where your bumper is welded.

It can also mount where the 6 ( 3 each side ) but its not effective. ( its just for added support )

Judging by what you're trying to say, the only places you can "bolt" is it on the crossmember and that will not be sufficient by itself... this skid weighs alot ( its a pain for one person to install because of the odd shape ) I would definitely want the 2 huge bolts up front along with the 2 crossmember bolts.

Sweet thanks Mak. I was wondering whether those three little holes on each side were just for decoration or served as another mounting option. Would I be able to get away with it if I use all 6 of those mounting holes plus the bolts that go towards the back on the crossmember?

you might be able to? you're gonna need to cross your fingers and hope that your holes dont have mud in them. lol otherwise its gonna be a pain to install all 6. Bud will send you the bolts you need to install for free... he gave me two fronts, two long bolts for the 6 bolts you're mentioning and 2 for the lower crossmember. They're all allen head, so its even more of a pain.

Great info! I'll post up pictures once I get it installed. Will be within the month.

If you want Bud CALL him.

Emailing him takes forever lately as he's busy.

That's understandable. It's only been 1 or 2 days since I emailed him but I'll probably end up calling him. I'm in no rush. Seems like a great guy to deal with after hearing what Mak had to say about him providing free stickers and hardware to mount. I'll keep yall updated.
