I can't get the link on yotatech to work. Is it working for you?

Chris

P.S. I just got the email and returned it to confirm my email address, but what else do I have to do to get it to work for AIM?

Very simple. It's a pain in the butt to open the tire swing and the tailgate. It really cuts down on access to the rear area. You'll find yourself stuffing everything in the back seat instead.

It's just a alot more of a hassle opeing the tailgate.

Steve,

Have you tried to put a 285 down there? Will it hit the panhard rod? My 265 is very close.

Yeah, you have to let all the air out of the 285.

What down to trail pressure? 14 lbs or literally all the air, just keep it on the bead?

Darren also stuffed a 285 up underneath before he got his rear bumper. Click here for his web page.

It's a shame you went out with the old man, had I known you were my age I would have showed you where you can score some of that tail - not just gawk at it!

So we will see you on campus in the spring?

Having to leave it aired down completely doesn't bother me much, but what about when you drop off a rock and hit it. It's not going to hit the tire, but instead of the rim, which is the part I don't like.

I'm still for a rear mount spare tire

I think the concerns for practicality and usefulness of the spare tire outweigh the inconvenience of getting to the hatch with a rear mount spare tire custom bumper.

I don't disparage the hatch thing as much as Steve. To some degree I rather enjoy playing with the carrier. I think that it would have more wheeling drawbacks putting it underneath, but how much time is that best case scenario???

If you travel by yourself, as in no passengers, then it is not a big deal to put it in the cargo area, not a big loss.

If you carry a lot of gear, then that is not as practical.

As for material, I think Steve was saying the corners should be thicker. I would agree with that for some extra piece of mind and minimal weight gain. Doing the whole thing that way would be absurdly heavy.

Dan, Steve was a great host in town and on the trails. I am applying to graduate schools and had a good meeting with the Philosophy department down there. If anything, it would be the Fall of 2004. That being said, I may need to come by over Christmas break to check them out again...

Is there a lot of trails around Tucson? I have some family there and have never really looked into it. Nothing as hardcore as what you usually run, but something fun would be great. I still have to drive home in one piece.

Awesome! I will be in Canada and Jackson Hole, WY during x-mas break but maybe if I am here when you are around I can take you out.

Yeah thats where the old times hang out for sure. You should have gone to Dos, The Library, Owls Nest, Ziggy's, Mill Ave Cue Club.....

It's okay. Sometimes you need a young dog to teach you old timers some new tricks.

Back on topic: Nice bumper.
