oh, and your webcam page says: "lifted, coiled-over, regeared, and double-locked" you'll need to change that while you're working on the yokohomoburrito-cam.

I have to get the kid to School, so we can't start until 8:30-9:00 am MST.

good grief... waste a half-day whydontcha...

best of luck with the endeavor. break a gear - i mean brak a leg...

i for one can't wait to see some wheeling pics of the "after" carnage.

oh, also i forgot to ask, but are you keeping the coils in the rear or going to a leaf conversion? that will look a little odd having leaf front and coil rear...

Steve, I'm surprised you didn't go w/links (3-link & panhard). Are you going to leaf the rear or stay how it is? If you haven't already bought the Alcan leafs I'd highly recommend Deaver's they are the finest springs available. What length springs are you using and about how much arc? Also what type/size of shocks will you use? Lastly how much vertical travel will this setup yield (if you have plotted it)?

If you are going with a Toyota IFS box are you adding a hydraulic assist or are you going Saginaw?

Good Luck! I have to say though I'd have liked to see you do something that hasn't been done before, not to say this won't make your truck much better for what you like to do with it

Other than the Nissan guys, I haven't read of many spring under swaps.
And once again, I've already seen the guys lining up behind schaefer saying they want to do it this way now. The guy's a pioneer.
Good luck Steve!!

Spring-under or spring-over is not that big of a deal but I can't say I've seen many people running front-mounted shackles. Mostly I was referring to the fact that he chose to go with leafs not links. I'm not trying to discredit Steve I'm just surprised that's all. I still think he's doing what all of us should do and that's modify their vehicle to better suit their intended purpose (be it IFS or SAS etc.).

[QUOTE=sschaefer3] FJ-62 and 1999 4Runner molded together for the best of both worlds. QUOTE]

Steve, I like your thought process. This setup should take the punishment you dish out.

Is your Marlin Crawler going to bolt up same as the IFS? If I remember, the diff on the solid axle is on the opposite side?

Can you take out the adapter and bolt the Crawler directly? Which transfer case will you be running?

Can't wait to see the IFS hit the floor! Let the sparks fly!

Cheese is in New Mexico right now, should be here tonight. Brent flys in Friday. It all comes apart tomorrow and plasma off the bracketry.

You better save me some parts on the driveway for me to mark my territory on when I get there. Now what you need to add to the part list are the revolver shackles for the front hanger.

Get some High Life in the fridge cause it is going to be time celebrate the loss of IFS you Jeep guy! I will bring my yellow vest for you to wear so you can be as cool as Chlamydia.

I think the D44 is the correct side drop. He probably looked at that since he's starting tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure the crawler will work as is.

High Life? Brent, you are a glutton for punishment. Drink that stuff and you won't be helping Steve...you'll be spending most of your time in the crapper.

Thanks...I've was researching today how to get a Marlin Crawler on my 3rd gen, and was given few options. One was to go with a SAS.

Just curious...not putting Steve's planning down...

Hey Steve, maybe you should patch that hole in your pants, unless this is a different type of webcam...
