T-Max and Summit house brand winches info
It looks like I will not be buying a T-Max winch given the response I have received from the company, They have admitted to re-labeling and the only major difference is the warranty. When it comes to me as a customer it's a matter of money also since the summit brand is nearly $200 cheaper. I sure don't want to buy a diluted product yes I'm a brand whore so it looks like Warn it is. They claim the specs are different, but in my reaseach I found the specs were the same
Hello Thomas, we do some private labeling. One of the main differences is in
the warranty the item carries. T-Max is one year parts and labor the private
label is 90 days. I don't know if you have ever purchased a "Midas" muffler
in your life or not, but the comparison is very similar. The total
difference in the "lifetime" muffler and the lesser guarantee, is the cost
of the item. For that matter, a T-Max winch is superior to the brand you
mentioned in all mechanical ways, we have a larger more powerful series
wound motor, larger brake surface area, superior controls, wired or
wireless, billet heat treated steel machined gearing, and all roller
bearings for total longevity of our product. NO other brand can say this!
Yes, we are the "new kid " on the block, but please do not mistake this fact
for any type of shortcoming. We do appreciate your interest in T-Max, call
us toll free @ 877-862-8629. Thank you, Ken Raderstorf, Director of
Operations, T-Max LLC

Questions,Comments: Dear, T-Max
I'm interested in purchasing on of your winches mainly the EW-9000 model.
How ever I have concerns of the true value or your product given I have
found one company Summit Racing selling what appears to be a T-Max winch as
a house brand. The instructions on their website are T-Max instructions and
the specs are identical when compared to the Genuine T-Max product at
companies such as winch depot. Being a poor college student is a huge
factor as there is a $200 difference between the genuine T-Max as I know it
and the Summit house brand. Product value is very important to me and I
would hate to buy something that is about to become diluted by an imposter.
After seeing this I want to save my money for a Warn, but I would like to
know what your take on this is so I can make an educated choice.
