Slider/Custom Crap Advice.

Well, I went to visit Armorology here in the springs today.

For the SKO type, low pro sliders...
AND
a front bumper 'slider'... most people will laugh, but i don't want a custom bumper *shrug* this would run along the front bumper, flare to flare and have a front skid to the stock skid. it would also have 2 winch points.
it would only be along the bottom of the bumper... no other crap.

all for $550 out the door, installed, painted...

so, am i crazy? or should i just cough up the $$

he doesnt want a bumper he wants like a westin safari guard... personally anything not mounted properly is not going to make a good recovery point, and going around the bumper jsut isnt going to cut it

www.armorology.com

and all i want it to do is either protect that bottom front area of the bumper, or allow me to push over the crap.

and it wont be like the safari guard. if i had ps on this computer, i'd show you :o

i was just using the words he used, " a front bumper 'slider' ".

I went to the web site, but it appears that theres not alot of links to look at photos. If you could get one of the front bumper idea, I'd be intrested to see what it looks like.

I've had my TJM on for less than 10 hours and I think it's my favorite mod yet. Very functional, and you catch some looks. Not really going for that, but it's nice to be different.

Being you wanted to keep the stock bumper, what about removing the valance on the front. This is that plastic part below the metal part. (Is this even possible on the 99+ bumper?) You could protect the bumper and get better clearance. If you could get a picture of your truck from the front, I can Photoshop something for you. you can PM me the picture or whatever.

this was earlier today...

doing that would require turns/fog relocations...

ok, for a visual... imagine the bottom 2 inches of the valance being made of steel, contoured to the bumper, and attached to the frame.

So yeah...it looks liek you can't really lose the front valance on those 99+ bumpers. Also, the corners and fogs are built into it.

ya, that's that small watercrossing up to eaglerock or whatever it's called.

i think i'll just get a better front skid and the sliders...
and just order the damned tundra/ome lift... it's just money, but the $250 from not having that front slider will offset the lift :p

Something like this? It's on cubuff4runner's rig, and I think it's about the slickest-designed bumper out there, especially if you don't want a full bull bar. Maybe you could have the guys at Armorology modify the design a bit.

Unfortnately, cubuff has a pre-99 bumper, so he could remove the lover valance. You can't really do that with the 99+ bumper. That does look great. :-(

Yeah, but I would think that the guys at that shop could modify the general design for a 99+ bumper. Or just switch it out for a pre-99 bumper?

DJ I don't know why it would be illegal? But who knows, we have a lot of goofy laws.

I talked to crappled last night...I came out thinking he really doesn't want to get rid of the stock bumper. He only wants to protect it.
