Fabtech 6" ????
Hey guys, I have a 2004 Tacoma TRD 3.4 and i wanted to know if any of you have heard anything about the fabtech 6 inch lift for my truck. I've heard about a shimmy that people get going down the road with any lift done with the new trucks with the rack and pinion stearing. Also i wanted to know why the recomend not going with a 6" if you have auto lockers? Any help please, Im stumped??????? I want the 6" in the worst way but i dont wanna mess up my ride quality. Thanks, Jared

Fabtech is the way to go for a lift kit for your taco. I havent heard one bad thing about it. The ride quality is never going to be the same as OEM, it all depends on what you have on for tires and what you have for suspension as well. As far as the autolocking hubs go I dont know why they recommed not going more than a 2 inch lift. e-mail fabtech

Are you talking about the ADD and problems? Well you wont have them, that problem is when lifting the truck but when you have a drop bracket kit like the Fabtech it solves that problem. Thats if that is what you are talking about as far as the locker.
The Fabtech coilovers suck butt. At least thats what I have heard.
Search around here. The topic has been covered many a times before.

I have a 6" drop bracket lift. I really like it for what I do... Its not for rock crawling, but, its great for expeditions into Baja, and beyond. Not for high-speed desert running either. High COG. The guys who are true hardcore wheelers will not endorse these drop bracket lifts. Either you stay low and go fast, or get a solid front axle and a crawler.
However, I think I would have stayed with a 2" suspension lift now since the drop bracket lift is irreversible since you have to cut out some key parts of the truck.
