88 4Runner Internal Cage - pics

Thanks to Wayne and Crew at www.upnover.com for doing a really nice job on the fabwork and install. The album with all the pics is at the bottom of the page incase this comes up X's

We put the interior back together today while we were trying to burp the 4Runner in hopes of an air-pocket causing the overheating.

John - that is an awesome looking cage! Do you have more details/pics on how it connects to the vehicle?

I like that. Are you planning to move the seatbelts to the cage for easier access?
In the pics They look kinda hard to get to. I am planning on a cage later this year, and I like the way you have youres going to the rear area.

You can see how it mounts here, I'll get some closer pics up today. The floor plates are the same the whole way around.

The seatbelt is not hard to get to at all. Just as easy as stock.

The cage was made by www.upnover.com in aston, pa. This specific cage was designed to be duplicated as a kit and shiped. I'll throw an email to Wayne at upnover and see if he can chime in.

I'll try to get some pics of the cap off today.

It's not difficult at all to get into the back seat area. In reality, it gives you someting to grab onto to get you into the truck.

in the bottom of this album is the pics of it topless w/the cage

Thumbs up I want one

If he makes this as a kit, I would love to see the pricing.
BTW the link to upnover isn't working for me.

you might want to think about some padding..

exposed internal cage + crash = world of hurt

Since we are reviving this from the dead.

I cannot tell if it mounts to the floor, or does it go through to the frame?

It still has the flaw of not plagerising from PSC and building a cage that isnt totally in the way, but nice, wish i'd seen this before.

It uses floor plates. See post #6 on 1st page.
There may be a matching plate underneath that then ties to the frame, or you could add that if it doesn't.

Sorry for leaving everyone hanging!

Currently the 88 is used only for light wheeling with the kids. The kids are the reason for the cage. Anyway.... in a year or so, I'll do the SAS. Right now, I'm working on a Formula Toy and that comes first.

The floor plate on the cage will match a plate on the underside that will be attached to the frame. Also........ padding will certainly be added.

If I ignore this again just shoot me an email to wake up and check it out. president@keystonekrawlers.com

Thanks!

UpNOver is no longer. :pat:

I'm not quite sure what happened but suddenly the doors were closed.

Either way.... if you are interested, give Bruce a call over at http://www.fullcircle4x4.com/ and I'll drag the truck over to him to make them.

Does anyone have the current price? I am considering an interior cage vs. an exo due to price, but the guy that did my tube doors is coming out with an exo kit so I am pricing both.

I gave Bruce over at Full Circle off-road a yell. He will be signing on to the board to post up some information. Their shop is located in Pottstown, PA for those who don't know them.

Thank you.

That is a 96 4Runner front bumper. It only took two pieces of sqare plate, some holes and some hardware.

You can see here that the lines are very stock looking.

Compared to the factory front bumper:
