3" bodylift on 88 4runner steering shaft extension
I'm sure that this questions has come up in the past; but I'm in the middle of dong my lift and don't have time to research. I just lifted my ' 88 4 runner by 3" everything went great no hang-ups until now: my steering shaft is too short!!! The body lift instructions tell me to drill out the pins holding the two parts of the steering shaft together with a 1/8 bit then extend the shaft by one and 1/8 inch. To that I say good luck!! male piece is so tight inside the female that there is no way I can budge it!!! Help!! Is there a steering shaft extension I can buy? If not how do I get two force fit pieces of metal apart that have been together for 19 years (with common garage tools)?

Try these instructions:
Usually helps to first drive the two halves together with a hammer (protect the splined end from damage), helps break things loose. Then use a drift up from the bottom to drive the inner piece out. May need to repeat a few times with liberal lubrication to loosen it up enough to adjust the length as needed. I pulled mine apart and then used some fine sandpaper to remove any burrs and then applied some grease to the pieces and it now slides in and out easily.
Here is another option that avoids the above hassle:
