285/75-16's on a stock 05 Taco

First post here - Looks like a great community!

I've done some searching here and other boards and I'm finding a lack of posts clearly defining the implications of running 285/75-16's on a stock 2nd gen Tacoma. This is phase one of the improvements and I'm likely 6 months out before I get my lift.

The good news? This isn't just a post where I solicit feedback with no outcomes since I've already made the purchase of both my 285/75 BFG A/T's and new 16'' aluminum Black Rock wheels. I'm planning an install on Friday and will be posting my results.

The bad news, I'm not sure how much hacking will be required not only for a on-road fit with limited rubbing but I'm also concerned about their performance off-road while flexing. I'm planning to pick a wheel up while at the shop to see if I can't get an indication of where I'll stand when wheeling.

Has anyone fit this size tire under a stock taco and what areas did you need to trim? Also, my new wheels have a 4.5'' backspace and so I hear at least 3'' is required to avoid tire contact with suspension components. Does that sound right? Any other advice?
