95-97 FJ80 buyer advice?
I'm looking to "graduate" from the 4skin to an FJ80. Want a late-model with solid front axle. Don't care if it is Land Cruiser or LX 450 badged.
Are there any "gotcha's to" look out for when buying one of these rigs?
They seem to pop-up on Craigslist and Autotrader here in the ATL area pretty regular with 125-150k miles for around 6-7000 bucks. Some way higher, a few a bit lower.
Any insights, opinions or observations welcome.

They hold their value relatively well. A friend of mine picked up a 94 ( i believe ) fully loaded with 250k miles and with the F&R electric lockers for 3,000 ish. its almost to 300k and its still ticking. I would just do the regular checks when you buy a vehicle...

I got my '96 this summer and LOVE it. Switched from an Audi S4 twin turbo...
At this point, the mileage is an issue to some. Look for service records is advice #1!
