So to swap to the 91 spindles and breaks and rotors in the front is a straightforward swap I'm assuming also I will be able to use the 91 booster to as well? I was looking for a good braking setup cause I'm doing a 1jzgtte jdm swap for street use not off road cause

I have an '87 P/U that needs brakes all around. The five lug wheels limit your options. If you can find a '91 2wd pickup you can check and see if you can just swap stuff over so you can get the six lug wheels that are standard on those trucks. I think the ball joint studs might be different I simply do not have one around to measure against. Spindle swaps was an old hotrod trick to get bigger wheels and brakes.
I looked at Wilwood brakes and they need a bigger wheel. I was goiong to swap in a 4runner rear axles with a wider track width.
All the stuff I'm finding is for desert racing not DD's so I have some mods to do.

also was wondering i read something somewhere about mustang spindles being swapped out idk if that if true or not but if so do you know any info about that at all and i jus bought my wheels like a month ago so cant really afford to buy a 6lug set but i am going to need a rear once the swap is underway so maybe if i went to 6lug to get the bigger brakes i could jus use an adapter? also wont an adapter push my wheel out further cause i cant have that my truck is bagged to lay frame so i cant go out much further till ill be hittin fender when i lower the truck thats for the help so far is is much appreaciated ima take lots of pix of the truch while doing the swap hopefully i can find time to do some kinda write up on it and post it on

I hate to dig up a thread from the dead but this thread makes no sense.. 89-95 Toy 2wd's all had 5x114.3 bolt pattern and is the same bolt pattern used by S2000's, 240 sx, jeeps, rangers, mustangs, and tons more.. I don't know who told you that there is no selection in 5 lug wheels, but the only limit to this bolt pattern is your imagination or listening to someone that doesn't know any better. Stay posted, I'm working on a 12.57" brake swap for Toyota 2wd pickups and should work on all 79-95 2wd pickups using off the shelf parts, and it's NOT that ridiculously overpriced Wilwood setup either..
skypilot; Stop misleading people.. If you don't know, don't offer misdirection. All Toyota 2wd pickups including heavy half ton and 1 ton single (Except 1 ton dually) are 5x114.3 (5x4.5).. All 4wd's are 6x139.7 (6x5.5)

whats your plan for this Gadgedizzle? is this setup going to use stock spindles or something different? im pretty interested to see what you come up with because every other big brake setup ive seen for a 2wd has had to use a 17'' wheel or bigger to clear the caliper.

IF/WHEN I get it to work, It's more than likely going to be stock stock stock parts.. Right now I'm in the 12.5" Rotor area, which means you SHOULD be able to rock 16" wheels, but I won't know till I get a combo that works for sure. The swap would include something like longer studs and having your hub OD machined down so you can slide a rotor over the face of it. The Nissan 350Z rotors look good, but they're too little of an offset. I'm going to play with crown vic (12.4") rotors tonight after work. Ideally the first stage upgrade would be a 1ton with single rear wheels. Rotor and caliper bolt on to stock 1/2 ton spindle and work well.. Only problem is the calipers are near impossible to find out here. My swap is going to be bigger than 10" if I can help it.
