bajallama's 97 4Runner 3RZ
So I decided to start this thread as I have done a lot of work and have a lot of future plans for this truck, so I wished to share the build process.
When I bought the truck in 2005 for 3,700 it had 170k on the clock, frozen AC compressor and a couple dents. Its a 5-speed and 2WD. I replaced the compressor with a later style which have a different pulley for more efficient cooling. However this required bending of the lines as the mounting locations had changed in the later generations. After that I picked up a set of Tundra Hypersilvers for pretty cheap. 2009 that motor had it due to improper maintenance from the previous owner. So I replaced it with a 4 port 3rz. All the stuff transferred over from the earlier 8 port motor. However I am running the pink top injectors with the earlier ecu. Fixed all the dents and painted it corvette red this past May. Did the Tundra front coilovers for a quick lift and paired with OMEs for the rear. Installed a E-Locker with 4.10's with custom wiring to avoid using the elocker ecu. Also put on some BFG KM2's. One thing I do hate about the base models is that you can't grease the u-joint. I have gone through 2 driveshafts already. Currently as of December 2010 at 290k miles.
Motor is stock with trueflow filter, Downey header(which I dislike), 2.5" cat to a cherry bomb for resonance and a Magnaflow to the stock V6 muffler back pipe. I plan on turboing within a year. It gonna be a budget build and only gonna run about 8 pounds of boost with no intercooler. I already picked a FC3S Turbo 2 turbocharger which is a hitachi unit for free. I'm gonna run water methane injection to rid the need of an intercooler and so I can keep running 87 octane. SAFC II will probably take care of the fueling issues and probably a PLX for the wideband. Custom manifold and piping will be made.

So, the rear of your 4runner is stock height, and you added Tundra 4wd springs only to the front? EDIT TO ADD: NOTICED THE REFERENCE TO OME REAR SPRINGS, TOO. I ask because I have an unlifted 2001 SR5 that I'm putting Tundra wheels on and __________ tires. Trying to figure out the right size. Don't want to go so big that it kills my performance/ride, but need to be big enough to look right! Yours looks pretty good! Any pics left over from the side BEFORE you lifted the front end?
GOTTA SAY, IF YOUR LIFTED RIG LOOKS GOOD WITH 255/65s on it, then that or 265/65 would be plenty for mine....maybe even 245/70s.
The back bumper looks great, did you just fold sheet metal around the receiver hitch and some round stock? Almost looks stock...only better.
