Hi, for those of you with the TRD Supercharger, do you also replace the stock exhaust manifold with headers and a high flow exhaust for more power ? I know that you would get a louder exhaust sound with the header and high flow exhaust. What about if you install the Supercharger and keep the stock exhaust manifold and stock exhaust, do you get a louder exhaust sound or no increase in sound but only in HP ?

you do not have to, but...As far as sound, that depends on what muffler you go with. You could do aftermarket headers and exhaust and it not be any louder than stock. I have not done headers(yet), but the reduction in backpressure helps the motor "breathe" easier and can increase power and gas mileage.

Adding the supercharger did not change my exhaust note with the stock systerm. The only additional noise is the supercharger whine and some light whistling at boost.

If I had the money I would've done the headers, exhaust and exhaust all at once. That would have been dramatic.

I haven't got the supercharger yet but I did put in new headers and exhaust in anticipation of it. Gotta get the junk out that the charger puts in!

Fred, you don't _have_ to, but yes it will increase the power even more.

Like I mentioned in another thread of yours, headers and the exhaust help the engine exhale easier. But, with a N/A engine, the engine's not inhaling that deep so you don't pick up a lot of kick and/or torque. When you throw an S/C into the picture, NOW the engine's inhaling VERY deep, and it can use some help exhaling. That's when the headers really help.
