What gear ratios does my 98 4run have

try searching gears or gearing. I know I've read many threads explaining ho to check it but I'm not sure off the top of my head. Sorry I can't be more help!

If its a 4x4 v6 with factory 16" wheels then you have 4.10s. If you have the option rear locker then you have 4.30s.

There's a bunch of sites with tables for gear ratios, but the only really way to be sure is check the diff. Jack up one rear tire, spin it exacty 2 times and count the number of turns the drive shaft makes. It helps to mark the drive shaft with some paint, Sharpie, whatever. The number of turns is the gear ratio. Just under 4 = 3.90, just over 4 = 4.10, 4 and 1/3 = 4.30, 4 and 1/2 = 4.56, etc.
If you want to get more accurate spin the wheel 20 times and divide the drive shaft turns by 10.
