tweeter mounts

how do I get to my tweeters to unplug them or install new ones?? i didnt see anything on the tech page so i thought id ask here... thanks!!

Well, what year is your vehicle? Also, which tweeters. I don't know what the 1st or 3rd gens have, but the 2nds have only one set in the back. Very easy to get to. Just need to know the year. :fireman:

its a 2000 4runner, they are in the front on the door panels where the windows are, towards the front of the truck... thanks for your help!

read step #6 to remove the tweeter pod. On my 99 there is a ball shaped pin on the top part of the triangle which secures it to the door. I used my fingers and carefully pulled at the top part of the triangle.

The bottom is secured with a offset, hinged, piece of plastic which fits in a rectangular hole so when removing you have to rotate the triangle piece downwards.

If you have any questions ask before trying to remove the piece. If you break any of the pieces it won't be able to secure again and you will have to buy a new piece.

Also, has anyone bought a new tweeter pod for their 'runner?

Just wondering how much this piece would cost?
