Ticking Noise??
I have recently developed a ticking sound under the hood... Most recent changes are new plugs, plug wires, rotor, dist. cap, oil change, and belts... while changing the belts I broke the fan shroud and just left it off... I think the ticking noise are the valves tapping... but I don't really know... anybody have something that sounds similar?... D@mn thing ran better before the tune-up!!

1991 SR5 v6... sorry, I guess that info is kind of important... I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any similar noises and what may have been causing them... the ticking sound gets faster with speed but if you just rev the engine without it in gear the sound is barely noticeable... if at all.

try putting in 91 next time you fill up. price is high but might help the ticking problem. or just throw in some techron before you fill up. i think it's like 6 bucks a bottle at walmart.
