Thoughts bout custom exhaust set-up
Hey guys, Iam new to the board and have been browsing for months now. I've learned so much already and givin up sooo much cash. Yeah, I know, Yotatech lightens your wallet pretty quick, lol. Kudos to all of you for helpin out all the newbs and such, so here is the question. I've got a '93 Runner 3.slow V6 auto. I've looked at Corey's exhaust comparison page and have done numerous searches. So what I've come up with is to convert all exhaust pipe aft of the headers from 2" to 2-1/4". It seems like everybody who has a Dynomax super-turbo loves it so thats what Iam going for. Thinkin of getting a Walker High-flow cat to go with it. So thats what Iam thinking of. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appretiated. Thanks guys. Later, Lee

I have a 2.5" Flowmaster, and I prefer the more controlled sound of the Flowmaster against the open header sound of the straight-thru's. Just something you might consider looking into...

i just got my exhaust done two days ago, i got a dynomax super turbo muffler, and a dynomax high flow cat from summit racing. i diddnt think the price was to bad about $98 for both. i had them installed the day i recieved them. 2 1/4" piping. they sound pretty good to me. i also noticed better acceleration on the highway. diddnt really feel any gain in torque though. the muffler shop i went to had it all welded up in about 40 minutes and only charged me $65 to weld it up and they even bent the piping and made me a custom tip come out in the stock location.

i'm also looking at a new cat back system to stick on some used headers i picked up today. can you remember the thread with Corey's exhaust comparison page listed, or have the url? it'll save me a ton of looking at this point.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Yeah, Corey's comparison page is a great source for info. I think I'll go fer the 2-1/4" with the dynomax high-flo cat and the super turbo muffler. Man, I am so stoked. Caio, Lee.

Ive had dynomax ultra flow, super turbo and flowmaster 40 on a V6 truck, and the dynomax super turbo on a 4 banger. I think by far the best sound Ive heard is the Dynomax Ultra Flow on my 3.4L. I had a Flowmaster 40series on my V6 ranger and it sounded good just too darn loud for me, and it really droned. The Ultra Flow has a quiet rumble at idle and acceleration but howls when you punch it. The super Turbo i always thought was a little buzzy, but thats just my .02.
