Temp. gauge deforming?

I performed a search but didn't find any relavant posts. Anyway, the temperature gauge on my 4Runner appears to be "melting", for lack of a better description. The gauge face is pulling away from the instrument cluster around the needle. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone understand what the hell I'm talking about? Any and all input is greatly appriciated, thanks in advance.

Well, I will have to say that is certainly something that we have never seen or heard of before.

Wow. As the saying goes... yur f&*#%d laddie!!!

I would personally complain like heck to toyota and see if maybe, just maybe, they will repair it for you. This bubble is super abnormal. If they won't, then you'll have to look for a company that repairs instrumentation. Your dealer probably has a relationship with such a company and perhaps will be nice enough to give you some contact information. If you have to pay out of your own pocket, it would be a good time to look into changing the face color or illumination color, etc. Perhaps someone on the forum has a line on an aftermarket cluster?

Or you can just watch the bubble get bigger!! If it starts to interfere with the needle or operation of the gauge itself then definately get it fixed. My 2 cents.

Wow, never seen before.... I guess I expected this to not be so unusual. The "bubble" just started about two months ago, and at first was hardly noticable. Then, practically overnight, it got huge (almost as big as it is now).

Good a time as any to buy another instrument panel, I guess. I've wanted amber illumination in the truck since I bought it, so here we go again (did this in my Supra a while back). Thanks for the replies, and if anyone has an instrument panel for sale, send me a pm/email. Thanks!
