Tacoma or FJ Cruiser?

I prefer M/T's too. The computers are fact of life anymore. The Taco has computers for anti-lock brakes, brake assist, downhill assist control, hill start assist, fly-by-wire throttle, A/T learning ECU, transfer case and front hub operation, traction control, skid control, engine mapping ECU, front, side and curtain airbag deployment, seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters, locks, windows, engine immobilizer and alarm. I've probably forgotten something. A couple of those are optional or A/T only. Still simpler than a 'Runner, but not by much.

Yea, I'd hate to have a new vehicle, because I wouldn't know how to work on it!!! My 93 3.0 has enough computer-controlled gadgets and gizmos as it is. I like working on my motorcycles...it's all mechanical, and it works perfectly...

The 05 4Runners are a fantastic deal. They improved it every year and the price is great right now.
I am on the waiting list to be notified on the FJC by my local dealer. I am pondering buying one in 07-08.

With the VVT-i and X-REAS, it's hard to resist at the price. Without even breathing hard they came down to $29,500 because of the $1,000 cash back on V-8's only that expires at month end. They said that was $500 over invoice. They were sold out of DC 6M/T Tacos. The green salesman, who was filling time until he got the call back from the local police department that's hiring, hadn't heard of FJ Cruiser. It was a fun test drive, he kept encouraging me to go faster so I did, figuring he could talk us out of a ticket.

I would go with the Tacoma if it was a access cab (or whatever it is called now) or the FJ... Although we don't really know what it is going to look like yet.
