Taco time for me? need advice..

Im looking at a 2000 Tacoma V6 SR5

this thing has just about every option on it.

TRD package, rear diff lock, power everything, alarm. bucket seats, cd player..everything really.

Its black and in very nice shape... 98,000 miles on er. I test drove it today and it runs PERFECT. handles great and is a very tight truck, no shakes or rattles. 4WD, low range, and the locker are all in working order. within 10k miles it has new break pads\shoes plus the timing belt and water pump.

I talked to the stealership (a dodge one btw) down to 12k

Here are some pics...tell me if you guys think it is worth it! I noticed it has what looks like some kind of skyjacker lift on it. Im thinking about 2.5 inches. Looks like coils with a spacer up front and new leaves on the back. (no blocks or body lift pucks.) Has aftermarket shocks on the rear as well. The underside is clean with normal pa wear for an 8 year old truck. they are detailing and undercoating the truck for me..and yes they will be wire wheeling the old rust off before thats done.

tell them to clean that floor before you buy it lol...jk jk

i think it looks damn clean to me, and so long as there are no mechanical problems, i think 12k for under 100k in miles is rather decent..

kbb said between 11k and 13k with all the option available...plus it looks like that truck is in mint condition, and you get that nice bed cover too

Looks real sweet. A new one like that might cost, what, $30K? Mileage may be a tad high. Hopefully you'll get at least another 100K in miles out of it, right? Is there a maint record? Since the owner took such good care of the visible stuff, the engine, etc., was probably taken care of as well.

I think I'd buy it.

Better hurry before somebody reads this thread and beats you to it!

I put a deposit in on the truck.

the original owner never did any work on the truck himself EVERY oil change, bulb change and even the lift was installed at the dealership.

He just had new brake lights put in at the dealership.. haha

Like I said above, they are gonna detail the truck and send it out for good undercoating.

Although im paying for it, this decision rides on my parents since the truck will go in their name.

I might be back saturday with my new taco!!..anybody want a first gen runner?

I studied the underside of the car for a good 15 minutes yesterday... they probably thought I was nuts.

I found no mud clumps or unusual rust on the truck. NO leaks anywhere. the motor looks squeeky clean. It just needs degreased and shined up (they are taking care of that)

ahh.. I bought my Taco over the phone, it was over 100 miles away.

1 - MAF was fcuked..
2 - Paint was crappy..
3 - I'm poor.

Good luck

Haha..thats why i looked at it in person.

Update on the lift:

Its a Skyjacker 2.5" kit. Has coilovers up front and an add-a-leaf out back..Its a $937.00 lift kit + rear shocks and professional install.. the PO really put some money into that kit.
