Sliders with divits?
I'm looking for some sliders that have some kind of divit in them so that my shorter passengers can get in and out of the vehicle easily. I want to get rid of these running boards so that I have more clearance, but the only thing stopping me at this point is the ability of my shorter companions to get in and out of the Runner.
I've seen that most if not all sliders are tubular and have no secure area for where a foot can step. If it's muddy, the shorties would have a hard time getting in and out.
Any recommendations?

I don't think anyone is going to offer that... sounds too labor intensive and would probably drive the cost to double standard price.
Demello has square tubing sliders if I remember correctly and if you decide not to go with that there's always the option of using skateboard grip tape or something similar to that to make for a more firm grip on the foot.

vtec,
how tall is your 4runner and how short are your passengers? i have a mild 1.0 - 1.5" performance products lift and my wife is 5'2". 5'3" if there's static electricity after blow drying her hair she has no problems getting in or out. i put some 3m grip tape on my stubbs sliders and that helped out alot in terms of having a stable, grippy surface to utilize. see my writeup at http://www.4runners.org/articles/stubbs. theres a part number in there. i purchased that tape alot cheaper than anywhere else from mcmaster's

Stubbs all the way
EDIT:
forgot to add...
http://www.stubbswelding.com
let him know you're a YT member and he'll probably cut you a little break. Not as good as what he just did a couple weeks ago but still really good considering the big name competition.
If you run a search on "Stubbs" you'll find out all you need to know.

Yeah, Stubbs sliders are awesome. One thing you might want to do is rig up some type of blocking guards (plastic) to prevent mud from spraying on to the top of the sliders. My wife gets pretty irked when she is trying to get out and her pants/skirt/dress gets dragged through the mud.
