Hey!
I'm looking for ideas for storing a hi-lift jack on my 4Runner.
If you've got some time - please post a picture of two of how you do it.
If you don't have time -
Peace Out

Yeah, I'm going through the same thought process. I'm trying to keep the weight off the roof to maintain a low center of gravity, but not sure it will happen.
I've considered installing it on the rear bumper that is being built right now, but I'm already running out of room as it is with a spare tire rack, an ammo can, and backup lights. Checkout Jeff Bathke’s rear bumper mount.

I ran across someones site yesterday with the Hi-Lift mounted on their TJM, but don't have the site address.
I'm looking a buying a Wilderness or Con-Ferr rack and mounting up top. Just where I was trying to avoid.

Mine's on the roof. Mounted to my Wilderness Rack with their bracket, very nice, no extra noise, easy to get down. The extra weight isn't much in the grand scheme of things.
