Here is what i have done so far to the new 99 4Runner Yota.

--Rear Lift is in (2")(SS#7) and 1.5" body lift
--35's on mickey T's
--TJM T-15 Bumper


Whats left--
--Install 4.88's diffs front and rear (detroit)
--Install Front A-Arms with new bushings
--Winch
--Misc Trimming and possible 35's WITHOUT A BODY LIFT--lower center of gravity--we already know i have a talent for flipping 4runners
--Intall new Weasy2K heads (new high flow valves and Cams)
--Install Dough Thorely Headers with new exhaust
--Twin Stick the T-Case
--Install New shifter to Compensate for the BL
--FROR Full Floating Alloy Axle Kit--Dont want a Lyschima repeat--how do you spell here Screen Name?--Molly i think here name is

ETA--Hopefully--hopefully by April--anybody want to help HAH LOL--Give you a chance to learn Yota inside and out.

So, you got the rear lift and rear tires, but, not the front yet?

If you're able to fit 35's w/o a body lift, you'll be the man...

I'm still wondering how you don't rub with 35's!! Im rubbing raw with a 2" body lift, 6" suspension lift and trimmed fenders!!! ( I need to extend my bumpstops!! )

looking good. If you need a hand on something, holler at me. I am only good for an extra set of hands and drinking beer though.

There's that red 4runner that is set up with minimum suspension and no body lift with 35's. Its linked on here somewhere. They cut almost to the firewall or something, but its really sick. If you are going to cut anyway, that's the way to go.

I barely rub with mine and no body lift, i don't believe in them... cant wait to see the rest, and it how does off road.... keep it up.

AustinTaco--the name of that thread is the "Trail less Traveled". If i keep an 1/2" i think it should work out just fine--of course with the trimming. Wish i had a welder....a good welder.

right nnow it doesnt rub in the back--but i still need to load it completly--thinking i should take the springs out and see what happens--then trim

Yeah rear lift and no front lift yet or tires---i am going 70's ---cant find a waterbed to fit the 4runner--------so i am making one

Update

So here is my Question about Atlas T-cases—basically I am thinking about getting one for my current build. So are there other people here on the board that use them? Chime in and tell me what you think. Also, from what I understand they are “shift-on-the-fly” like our stock cases but of course with many other options. Namely 4.3 low ratio—No, 2.56 low gearing really isn’t low enough for what I do and STAK cases are not shift on the fly

I know the question will be asked—why not get a lefty? After the adapters they are almost as much as an Atlas, no shift on the fly and it may or may not be the last T-case I ever own. The Atlas—pretty much the last T-case I will ever own.

And on that note—if you have a Driver Drop in Great mechanical condition—looks not important—and you are looking sale---hit me up.

And just a run down on my current build so far

TJM T-15—bobbed by Sonoran steel so I could run 35’s
Sonoran Steel #7 suspension lift
1.5” Roger Brown Body Lift

4.88’s Detroit “Soft” Locker out Back—I may or may not go back to my True Track LSD. I will wait and see after a 1000 miles

Lots of suspension stuff rebuilt or replaced—Tie rods, ball joints, bushings…any thing I think needs to be replaced

Heads (Weasy2K stage1 cams and Manely Hi-Flow Valves) put on
Doug Thorley Headers
Either Flow Master 60 series or comparable muffler
Custom rear bumper—I am going to give bumper building a shot

SuperWinch EP9.0—with Synthetic line
Design some system to close gap between body and frame to protect against muds and stuff

Update--Rear 88's are in and it feels nice--i just cant cruise like I used to. also the 35's with no BL was nixed because of advice from some very in the know people.

So install the front 4.88's
Heads and associated misc
Little more pinch weld are work

And impressions of the Detroit after 800 miles--At first it was tighter than a #@#$ at a catholic church. And though it still kinda bumps and pops and clanks a little--it has mellowed out alot and is becoming more drivable.

Like the feel of the 35's--now i just got to get out there and see how it wheels.

i'm going to 35's this summer probably. wheeled with a buddy's pair the other day just a little rubbing on the top of the fender at full tuck. if i took out the rear wheel spacers i probably wouldnt rub... o ya and i have like 3.5 in of lift. OME 883's with toytec spacer OME 890's with 1.5 spacer... that would be fittin without body lift. lol

Are you running a suspension lift with a body lift. So 1.5" on the BL and 2" on the Suspension?

Do you have manual hubs and arent you worried about breaking axles in the front?

i dont have manual hubs. i just dont wheel like an idiot. lol i tear/break my fair share of shafts maybe three a year but i can change one if fifteen min and alyways carry spares. three of us are running the OME 883 set up and me have not had any problems. my buddy has your set up with 33's and i donno if you got the body lift yet but he has 2in and mine sits a little higer than his...

i wanted to go 35's with no BL at all, but i was informed that some people had problems with the way it turned out. Does anybody in your group run 35's and only the 2.5" Suspension lift? Is the down side just all the trimming you have to do? Would love to drop the BL an 1" lower my center of gravity.

i really will only maybe have to get at the front pinch weld. due to the glass works fenders i really dont have to worry about the front. and most people dont have to trim the rear at all. and no one is running 35's with no body lift. but blake (neliconcept) who got banned live up here in fort collins too and we wheel a lot together and he has a inch less suspenson lift than me and a 2in body lift and put 37's on his and they cleared. he's thinkin about really buyin a set and gettin custom axles and has a good supply of parts to beef up the front suspenson and will probably run 37 this summer.

there is not even a need for air tools... maybe the first time. you drinkin while you do this...

add shafts are easy to swap. once the wheel is off its 5 nuts and a pry bar. you cant run 35's without a BL. simply not enough room..unless you do what TLT has done to the firewall areal. even with a small 1.5 body lift youre still trimming and pounding that area.

truck looks good...you should just keep it 35's in the rear...that hotrod 4X4 look haha
