Power Steering Leak
Im sure its been covered before (hasn't it all) but whats the best way about finding/fixing my leak? I have to put more in probably once every two months when i start hearing that sound on slow turns. My dad said to just clean the engine and then watch for where it goes but that seems unreliable. He might be right but i just wanted to get some more opinions because I'm either going to fix it myself or just keep buying it cheap and filling it up occasionally because i cant take it anywhere so please help me out. Thanks in advance, Andrew (i have two more days of break so please be quick so i can get to work)

I had a leak in the front seal of my 94's ps pump. I used a product called "Trans Magic" one treatment and a top off a couple days later took care of the problem. There are many products out there that do the same thing.

Try this......clean off all the powersteering lines and connectors, have some one turn on the truck and turn the wheel back and forth. you might be able to see where the fluid is coming out from. if you can't see it try wrapping some paper towels over it and turn the wheel, then take off the paper, and see if theres any fluid, then atleast you can tell if its up top, in the middle or towards the end of the line. im sure someone has a much better way, this is just how i had to do it with my first truck and limited resources.

Do you have to buy that rebuild kit through the dealer? I picked some Trans Magic up at Autozone today so hopefully that will take care of it. Thanks again.
