Pics of my deckplate mod

Hey guys,

Finally got around to taking a couple pics of the new deck plate. Don't mean to bore anyone b/c I'm sure most have seen tons of similar pics, but this is the first real mod I've done to my 4Runner, and I'm really happy with it!

Tom

Good job! It feels good to do something like this and then post to show it off, so don't feel bad, its not boring!

Tom,

Looks good! How do you like the performance gain? Did you use a hole saw, Rotozip, etc to cut the hole? Did you use a hose clamp to secure the mesh screen? And did you use silicone-safe sealant or a rubber gasket?

My install is slightly off-set to the upper left hand corner of the air box b/c of the windshield wiper fluid nozzle. Also, I used a rubber gasket.

In anycase, glad to see your install went well.

Thanks guys! Bob, to answer your questions:

I'm loving the slightly throatier sound, esp. under acceleration. It did seem like there was a little more power response. And my special driver's seat tells me that I'm getting pushed back in to the seat by exactly 7.2 HP more than before the mod

Seriously though, its definitely given me the mod fever. I used a dremel to cut the hole, but if I had to do it again I'd go with a hole saw. I never thought it would be as trying as it was using a dremel. I did use a hose clamp for the screen, and went with sensor-safe silicone to seal it all up.
