PF Brake Pad Dust

After replacing my rotors and pads last summer, I noticed dusting which I hadn't remembered seeing from the OEM pads. I assumed from a few searches that this was normal and also assumed I would just have to grit my teeth and wash the wheels more frequently. I now have about 20,000 miles on these pads and realized that they haven't been dusting for awhile.

Just wondering if this is typical of brake pads or something specific to the PF's...

Is your question if its normal for the PF pads to dust at all, or to stop dusting after a while?

I have heard that pretty much any aftermarket pad unless you spend big bucks will dust quite a bit more than OEM...not sure about them just randomly stopping, unless it was just getting through the outer layer and now that its worn down some, its into a harder part of the pad or what.

I was just shootin in the dark there...not real sure, OEM is the best way to go though!

I have Akebono ceramic pads all the way around and they gave off some dust for the first 1000 miles but ever since it's very minimal if any at all.

I have been using Morse ceramic pads for a few thousand miles now and I haven't noticed any dust from them at all. Thats one of the main reasons I went with ceramic over the PF pads (which are highly regarded and recommended) I was tired of the heavy brake dust.

For my 2nd gen and the way I use it the ceramics have been working great with little to no visible dust

get axxis brake pads...my dad runs them on everything he owns and there is NO brake dust.

they are a little pricey and im not impressed with their stopping power over oem for the cost

I have PF pads and haven't noticed a brake dust problem per se, then again, I have black wheels.

i will be running pf pads within a week, so i will keep everyone informed..... my truck is regularly dirty though, so i probably wont notice any dust.... my wheels are aluminum, but also have pretty small holes and they have a blasted grey color to part of it, so dust may not be to evident on it
