(actually it was 304.5 RWHP @ 355.5 Torque)

Between him and Gadget you should be able to get into the 330+ crank HP range no problem.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/new-dyno-numbers-track-times-61635/

If you want to go more extreme it is possible (there are at least (2) 500-600HP 3.4L out there that I am aware of) but the money spent goes up exponentially on projects like that......one was twin turbo, the other was centrifically supercharged, both with intercoolers).
Those two trucks you mentioned are not street friendly and the cost to set those up went WAY beyond 12K.

With the mods I did, the RWHP is 304.5 and the jury is still out on what that equates to at the crank. If you figure a 20% drivetrain loss, it's 380 HP at the crank. At a 25% loss it's 406HP. If you simply add the increase in RWHP (164.5) to the 190 published crank HP it comes out 354.5. It's anybody's guess I suppose.

I do know this---the truck is very dependable, smooth as glass, gets 21 MPG on the HWY, not radical at all, and is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. I have about 7K in the drivetrain including tranny upgrades and mods.

BTW---to whomever---don't even think about these kinds of mods without the valve body upgrade!!!

I completely understand. When I take an extended road trip, my high-powered Supra stays at home and I take the 4Runner. I need the space and it's 4WD capability, not to mention it drives really nice. I could probably live without the Supra if I took the proceeds from the sale to boost (hehe) the 4Runner's power to make it more enjoyable to drive.

Forget the custom turbo kit I mentioned earlier. If you can get over 300 rwhp with a tweaked TRD SC with fuel system modifications, that's the way to go.

A lot of my friends asked this same question of me when I was building up my truck. I gave them all a ride after I finished. All but one has gone with a S/C and fuel mods after the ride. The one that didn't simply can't afford it right now but has plans on doing it in the future. Power puts a smile on my face whether it is in my truck, my car, or my motorcycle. That's just me however. Most of the guys on Yotatech don't seem to be a very power oriented but that's cool too. To each his own.
