Turns out diaphram that operates vacuum secondaries was ruptured...hmmm, wondered why choke plates were black and gummy, they were never opening !! :wtf:
New floats, jets, gaskets, diaphrams and needles all installed, choke set up right...
Only thing missing was some new o-rings for the primary to secondary fuel tube....
Anyway, it will probably never run again but we have to give it a shot...I wonder what difference having secondaries that actually open will make

Hey Travis-
IMHO, unless you've done any head work or changed/planning to change the cam, I bet you'll have better luck with the 2 barrel. You could alway upgrade to the "real" holly 2 barrel aftermarket carb. They are like like 500 cfm, have the 50 cc accelerator pump, and a much easier to adjust float, compared to the motorcraft 2 barrel. I rebuilt 2 different motorcrafts on 2 different trucks, and when I finally got the holley, it was like night and day. I ran it on a pretty well built 390, with the stock iron 2 barrel intake. It was nice...Let me see...
Here it is at Jegs, the 2300 model . This is a really nice carb, without the worry of secondaries. Just my $.02...
Sorry for the continued hyjack
