NEED HELP!! Winch trouble!
My dad has a 97 4Runner, with an ARB Bull bar on it, and he just got a Warn M8000 winch. Now, install is just fine, but i need to know how people configured their truck to accept the heavy load of a winch. Okay, that was confusing. I'm talking about the Electrical system part of it. See, we looked at Optima batteries because that is what i have seen people running, at least in jeeps, but when we looked at them, the poles are reversed from what the 4Runner needs. Anyone who has a winch on their 3rd gen, please let me know what you did. Thanks,
Isaac

Anyone? Sorry guys, i know this is a lame question, but my dad is particular about his truck, and if it isn't clean and nice, he won't do it. It's not hard so much, but he hates anything slapped together. If anyone has any advice, please help. THank you.

Optima carries reversed post batteries. You have a choice of either the red top or yellow top. Red top 34R are starting batteries. You can also get 51R yellow top which are recommended for winching. I bought a red top with reverse posts since I don't have a winch. You don't even have to extend your cables at all. Optima sent me a battery spacer and everything mounted like the OEM battery. Check this thread.
You can get them from here.
Hope this helps.
