Looks nice. Those are good CB's. I have mine in the ashtray, but, I now have a single DIN CD player so theres just a void.

It seems that the only economical way to hard-mount a CB antenna on a 4runner (without going through the roof) is in the front. However, I realize you have an aftermarket bumper, which would probably mount nicely to on the side....

I had my mount in the channel of the rear door...which sucked when I needed to get in the back. Then I put it on the rear bumper panel, but, the bumper panel is just too flimsy and is bent now. Im thinking about saying screw it and getting a magnetic mount for the roof or osmething...

Looks good. If you do not mind me asking, why the front bumper. I have never seen that before.

If your gonna keep it there(antenna) may I suggest a tennis ball to keep it from hitting and scaring up your paint.
Poke a couple holes in the tennis ball and slide it down to a point where it does the most to keep the antenna from hitting your paint just a thought works real well an 102" whips
I would think the rear bumper would be better less chance of damage to the paint and body plus you get a better ground to the antenna from the metal , that plastic is helping you out any.
talk to the radio guy there at the truckstop there at the bottom of the hill (well down the street from giant) he can tell you about the ground plain effect
just lookin out for ya

thanks guys

its on the front because when i get a t-15 its gonna go in the same place

i was thinkin in the back , then i got the hard ware for the in between the fender and the hood but i didnt want to have to cut wires ( wasnt enough clearance)
i just wanted to plug in. if you notice in the close up i can just unscrew the fire stick and just have a tiny plug in the bumper

Nice install.. how much use do you get out of your CB? What do you normally use it for?

I've been wanting to install the Uniden PC78Elite in my 4Runner....

Nice job and interior photo. Some details about mounting it could be helpful...is it resting in there or bolted in? Did you use a 90 degree coax adapter?

Loks good. I was thinking about putting my radio in the same place but have concerns about the heat issue...ie no air circulation in there. Any thoughts?

This is in my Tacoma. I just took the pocket out and the CB slides right in. It is pretty snug. I can pull it out if I want to. But it fits perfectly. Just slide it in.
