about to get the limited trim for my sr5, 4 fender flares + rocker panel cladding. Not sure if it's coming with necessary parts for installation yet so I was going to see if anyone has any insight into what it takes to get them on. yes, i know it involves drilling i just want some more light shed before i have them in my hands.

oh and i decided to get it all line x'd!

bump out of desperation!

okay so after the limited trim, limited wheels and blakes cbi i'm running low on fundage. come to find out the stealership wants 250 to install my trim! I was really apprehensive about drilling into my body up to this point, but now I'm leaining towards doing it myself. Any hints, tips, etc to make this easier on me? Thanks guys

Should be interesting.
IIRC, the clips that hold everything on go into square holes in the body.

Got a square drill bit? lol

The best way to install them is to make a template from the mldgs and transfer it to the body.(assuming the square hole thing doesn't hold true)

Honestly, $250 might not be bad for the enormous hassle it could be.
You realize you have to drill the doors also for the cladding (I think...).

I sort of find it hard to believe the dealership would take on this type of job, because it's not exactly a factory manual type of thing and I just don't see them doing "custom" work. Non-the-less, I'd love to get my hands on some of the limited cladding, as my SR5 came with the fat flares. Good luck, I'll be interested to see the results.
...You also seem to be the type to actually do some wheeling in your truck, and I'd be willing to bet those flares would be subjected to considerable punishment.

yeah i guess we'll see. and as far as punishment goes, the line x should settle any worries i have about beating up my flares....i do't know if you meant the limited flares or the bare body flare

I meant the limited flares...and I didn't mean beating them up, I meant ripping them off completely (but I don't know the trails you hit).

I just picked up some paint/clear to spray my horribly scratched flares today.
I'm starting to really wonder about that price now, because I think some of the clips are $2-$13 each...and for the flares and the cladding, you're gonna need a bunch of 'em.

i agree with whit. Im not sure what kind of trails you hit, but the big ballon flares look really nice (i love em on my 02 limited DD), but as far as the trail goes, it might be a "take em off or tear em off" kinda thing. line-x will help against branches and rocks coming up form the tires from say mudding alot, but as far as contact with anything on the trail, id be afraid it would take the line-x off and might be kinda hard to patch up...
